Kray MicroFinance is a Bank of Uganda-regulated institution dedicated to delivering accessible, affordable financial services to individuals, traders, and small businesses across Uganda.
Kray Microfinance was established in 2012 as a micro-lending institution dedicated to providing accessible financial solutions to underserved micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Uganda. Built on a strong foundation of cashflow-based lending, the institution has consistently empowered small traders, informal businesses, and emerging entrepreneurs with the financial support needed to grow and succeed. Over the years, Kray has evolved into a structured Tier 4 microfinance institution with a diversified portfolio of loan and micro-investment products, serving customers through its branches across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area, including City Centre, Kawempe, Nansana, Nateete, and Kyaliwajjala.
A significant milestone in Kray Microfinance's journey came in 2018 when the institution embraced digital transformation and transitioned into a fully digital operating model. This strategic investment in technology enhanced operational efficiency, improved customer experience, and enabled the institution to scale its service delivery through innovative digital channels. Continuing its commitment to innovation, Kray became one of the pioneering Tier 4 microfinance institutions in Uganda to introduce ATM card services and integrate into the national ATM network. Today, Kray cards are accessible through more than 22 commercial bank ATM networks nationwide, providing customers with greater convenience and financial accessibility.
As part of its long-term growth strategy, Kray Microfinance continues to invest in expanding its digital infrastructure and customer access channels, including the deployment of its own ATM machines. With a customer base exceeding 41,000 clients, the institution remains focused on advancing financial inclusion, supporting SME development, and delivering reliable, technology-driven financial services.
